Happy New Year! And Looking To 2021

Congratulations on making it to the end of 2020! This year definitely had a lot of room for improvement if you ask us. While we can’t end the pandemic ourselves, we can focus on how to improve ourselves as individuals.

New Year’s Resolutions normally involve going to the gym, eating healthier, advancing your career, etc., but most Resolutions will look a little different this year. Why not take a new approach to your New Years and focus on the smaller changes you can make in your life?

One resolution we suggest thinking about is improving your consumption decisions. While we understand the serotonin rush of clicking the “Buy Now” button and having a package arrive at your doorstep, it can be very easy to fall into a habit of overconsumption and throwing sustainability concerns out the window. In fact, shopping sustainably and lightening your purchasing load can help you keep and maintain more mindfulness in your mental and physical space.

In 2021, we suggest that whenever you go to buy something to fill the void, ask yourself these questions: Is this sustainable? Do I care if it is? Why or why not? Will I get a lot of use out of it? How can I make more sustainable consumption decisions in the future?

2020 was a tough year. While we can’t control what the universe has in store for 2021, we can focus on how to improve our own consumption and decisions.
